INTRODUCTION TO AYURVEDA

The literal meaning of the word Ayurveda is the science of life. Ayurveda is a science dealing not only with treatment of diseases, but, is a complete way of life. This system of Health stresses on the prevention of body ailments in addition to curing them. Ayurveda is one of the oldest health sciences in existence with an antiquity of almost 5000 plus years. The Ayurvedic concept of physical health revolves round 3 energy concepts – Vata, Pitta & Kapha. These are the physiological or physico-chemical vital forces in the body. When the three factors are well harmonized and function in a balanced manner, it results in the well being of the individual. When there is imbalance or disharmony within or between them, it will outcome as various kinds of ailments. Classes can be one-on-one or in small groups depending on students and trainer’s availability. This basic program is recommended for any advanced learning on Ayurveda.
